Ave maria school
Is a co-education basic school located in Accra, Ghana. The school runs from Crèche to Junior High School with boarding house facilities.
The school was founded in 1982 by the late Mrs Mary Ama Kyem Antwi of blessed memory. She started the school initially with three children in the garage of her home but gradually, as the good name of the school spread, so did the number of the little ones grow.
After completing their early childhood education parents were having problems getting vacancies for their wards in the schools. To solve this problem Mrs Antwi decided to establish a primary school so that after completing the nursery here children could have easy and continuous access to primary education.
In January 2009, the boarding house was commissioned under the leadership of the Managing Director, Mr Michael Antwi. School bus services were also introduced to assist parents and carers who lived in surrounding communities enroll their children at the school.
What started in the garage of Mrs Antwi’s house has now grown into a world-class educational institution nationally and internationally. Our ever-growing school community consists of learners from Nigeria, Togo, Sierra Leon, Liberia, Canada, the USA and the UK just to name a few.
